Man Utd could save a lot of money on Griezmann signing after latest development

Manchester United could save a lot of money on signing Atletico Madrid star Antoine Griezmann following the latest developments regarding his agent.

The Manchester Evening News report that Griezmann has ditched his agent and will operate alone for the foreseeable future.

“From now I’m going to operate without an agent,” he was quoted as saying MEN [via L’Equipe]. “But I will always have the advice of my father and also my mentor, Eric Olhats.” Olhats is the Real Sociedad scout who discovered Griezmann at a youth tournament in Montpellier.”

Per the source, Griezmann is a top transfer priority for United ahead of the 2017 summer transfer window but he will not be available on the cheap.

United could however, save money on his agent fees if they were to land the French international. The Reds had to shell out around £20 million in agent fees alone for Paul Pogba’s representative according to the Daily Mail.

Atleti did recently lose their appeal against a 2017 transfer ban, which could complicate United’s efforts to convince the Spanish giants to sell Griezmann.

Griezmann still has another five-years left on his current contract and is one of the most highly rated players in European football.
