Liverpool are interested in signing Barcelona midfielder Arda Turan, report DonBalon.
DonBalon report that Liverpool will “counter-attack” the La Liga giants’ reported interest in Philippe Coutinho and make a move for Turkish international Turan.
The Spanish site claim that Turan has been unable to secure a spot in the side under Luis Enrique and that Liverpool may attempt to sign him in January.
Jurgen Klopp’s side already have a wealth of attacking talent and it is reflected in the fact they are the league’s top scorers so far this campaign. If Coutinho does leave, though, his immeasurable influence will need to be replaced.
Turan could be the man for the job. He has struggled to hit his stride since moving to the Nou Camp in the summer of 2015, but at Atletico Madrid he emerged as one of the most industrious attacking midfielders in Europe.
Liverpool will no doubt be reluctant to sell Coutinho, especially to the club who poached Luis Suarez from them two years ago.
