Griezmann announced his arrival among the elite players in world football with a sensational 2015/16 season for Atletico. The 25-year-old found the back of the net 32 times in 54 appearances for the La Liga giants last campaign. He followed up a stunning season for Atletico with an equally impressive Euro 2016 campaign. Griezmann scored six goals and provided two assists in seven games, he was subsequently named the competition’s best player and won the Golden Boot.

He is the latest player to threaten Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo at the pinnacle of world football. Griezmann was named in second place for the UEFA Best Player in Europe Award and third place for the Ballon d’Or.

It comes as no surprise that Premier League giants Man United are interested in securing his signature. The Sun believe that he would cost Jose Mourinho’s side as much as £60 million, with talks already ongoing over a summer transfer.
