Manchester United supporters have some good news to wake up to this morning. Their star central defender Rio Ferdinand is set to negotiate contract talks with United very shorty.
Rio’s agent Pini Zahavi has confirmed that contract talks with the club is due soon but doesn’t clarify the exact timing. The 29-year old England international has been a regular at Old Trafford since joining the Red Devils from Leeds United in 2002 and has been a stalwart for Sir Alex Ferguson since.
Rio Ferdinand’s current contract expires in 2009 and although the player is now 29, the club doesn’t have any qualms regarding giving him a fresh contract. Rio Ferdinand is happy at Old Trafford and one can only suspect that the contract talks will end on a positive note.
