‘Where is Hull?’ Manchester United defender hasn’t got a scooby doo

The Tigers have added three new players to their ranks since achieving promotion to the Premier League in May, the latest being former Bolton defender Bernard Mendy. The Frenchman seems pleased to have arrived in the East Riding of Yorkshire, although he reveals that a certain friend of his on the books at Old Trafford doesn’t have the foggiest where the place is – maybe he will by the time Dean Windass has run him ragged next season!

The Hull Daily Mail reveals that Patrice Evra is none the wiser as to where his team will be travelling to next season when Hull City away pops up on the fixture list. It also appears that Mendy has been told something of a white lie, claiming that Manchester is just a short drive away from his new club!

“I talked to my friends in France about signing for Hull and one friend said ‘Where is Hull?'” said Mendy.

“I spoke to Patrice Evra at Manchester United and he said ‘Hull? Where is Hull?’

“I said that Hull is very nice and a good city and only one hour away from Manchester.

“I have spoken with him (Evra) and I have told him that Hull will win one zero (against Manchester United).”

Well, anything is possible Bernard, especially if Man United lose Cristiano Ronaldo and have to rely on the other nine outfield players to make something happen!
