Bernabeu boss on the ropes?

Bernabeu skipper Iker Casillas and defender Sergio Ramos have approached Real Madrid president Florentino Perez and demanded that Jose Mourinho is axed according to the Daily Mail.

The pair have threatened to quit the club and this has reportedly led to the calling of an emergency press conference today at 1pm (Spanish time) which could lead to an announcement that Mourinho has been relieved of his duties.

Despite helping Real Madrid to a La Liga crown last term Mourinho has never been sitting all that comfortably in the hot-seat and with his side now some 15 points off leaders Barcelona in the domestic title race it seems plausible that his time at the club could be set to come an end.

The former Blues boss has had run-ins with a number of his playing staff and a sizable portion of the club’s supporters, and directors, are keen to see the back of Mourinho, citing his presence as detrimental to Real Madrid.
