Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho has dropped a huge hint that he could be on his way back to Chelsea this summer according to the Daily Mail.

Speaking at the opening of an exhibition in his hometown Setubal the 50 year old responded to speculation about his future managerial options by stating;

‘It’s not easy to choose a new destination after working in England, Portugal, Italy and Spain. Maybe I could return to somewhere I’ve already been. Watch out for surprises.’

The Portuguese boss has been repeatedly linked with an imminent Bernabeu exit, due in part to a breakdown in his relationship with a number of the club’s big stars as well as a falling out with some of the Real Madrid board. It doesn’t help that a portion of the club’s supporters are also keen to see the back of the eccentric manager.

This despite the fact that he won the La Liga title last term.

However having seen Barcelona roar towards another domestic title this term, with the Catalan side being 13 points clear of their arch rivals, it seems Mourinho is living on borrowed time. A Champions League triumph may be enough to win over the doubters but it does seem entirely possible that even such a feat could not be enough to keep the former Blues boss from leaving the Spanish giants.

Mourinho’s hint of a possible return to any of his former clubs would appear to put Chelsea in the driving seat. The Stamford Bridge side will be without a manager in the summer and FC Porto are unlikely to sack Vítor Pereira given his side are unbeaten in Primeira Liga action all season.

Inter Milan may not be having the best of seasons but the Nerazzurri have shown their support for young boss Andrea Stramaccioni and don’t seem likely to axe the 37 year old.
