Spanish giants set to make cash plus player bid for Manchester City star.
Real Madrid are hoping to tempt Manchester City into selling Sergio Aguero in a cash plus player deal according to The Daily Star.
The Argentine striker has become one of the most feared strikers in Europe since joining City from Real Madrid’s bitter rivals Atletico.
Aguero’s goals fired City to the Premier League title last season and has become a key player in Roberto Mancini’s squad.
Those performances have not gone unnoticed though, and Real Madrid are thought to have made Aguero one of their top summer targets.
It is thought the Spanish giants have turned to Aguero after discovering that Napoli and Tottenham are both looking for a fee in the region of £70 million for Edinson Cavani and Gareth Bale.
City value Aguero closer to the £45 million mark which the La Liga side to be consider a more realistic prospect.
Madrid are keen to reduce their cash outlay further though, and are set to offer one of their current strikers in part exchange.
Aguero’s Argentina team-mate Gonzalo Higuain is thought to be one possibility while French striker Karim Benzema could also be used as bait in a potential deal.
While Manchester City are keen to hang on to Aguero, the player is thought to be unhappy with life in Manchester following the breakdown of his marriage to Diego Maradona’s daughter Giannina.
