Italian source CalcioMercato claim that PSG boss Carlo Ancelotti is a potential Liverpool managerial target.

The former Chelsea and AC Milan is apparently seen as a possible replacement for current Anfield boss Brendan Rodgers, who has had a less than spectacular first season in charge of the Merseyside club.

Rodgers arrived at Liverpool last summer after a successful spell in charge of Swansea City but though clearly the club’s American owners wouldn’t have expected an immediate impact they may well not be too pleased at the fact that their side sits just one spot higher than last term’s eighth placed finish.

There has been much speculation about Carlo Ancelotti’s PSG future but it would be incredibly harsh for the Parc des Princes side to consider axing the Italian given that his side sit top of Ligue 1 and are safely through to the Champions League quarter-final.

A possible return to the San Siro to rejoin AC Milan has also been mooted as a possibility and perhaps one more likely than a move to manage Liverpool.
