Striker’s agent insists Cavani is happy with Serie A club.
Napoli striker Edinson Cavani could be set to disappoint a number of Europe’s top club this summer according to his agent.
Sky Sports are reporting that the player’s representative believes it is Cavani’s intention to stay with Napoli beyond the summer.
The player has become one of the hottest properties in Europe this summer with a number of top clubs linked with his signature.
The likes of PSG, Real Madrid, Arsenal, Manchester City and Chelsea are all thought to be monitoring the player’s availability as they consider summer moves for Cavani.
The Uruguayan striker has lit up the Italian leagues this season and he is currently Serie A’s top goalscorer.
Cavani’s goals have fired Napoli into second in Serie A and the club are desperate to hang on to him.
But reports in recent weeks have suggested that the player has a £60 million buyout clause in his contract that could leave Napoli powerless to hang on to him.
The club’s fans were beginning to resign themselves to losing the player but it now appears they have been given hope that Cavani will stay after all.
“Edinson never told me he had any intention of leaving Napoli. It’s great thinking there is so much interest in him because it means he is doing well,” said the player’s agent, Claudio Anellucci.
