Luka Modric will not be leaving Real Madrid, says agent.
Former Tottenham star Luka Modric will stay and fight for his place at Real Madrid, his agent told tuttomercatoweb.
The Croatian playmaker has been linked with Inter Milan after a poor first season at the Bernebeu, where he has struggled since his big money move from Spurs.
A hit in his time at White Hart Lane, Modric has struggled to reproduce his best form in La Liga, and has also been linked with a return to the Premier League with Manchester United.
However, the agent of the 27-year-old insists his client is happy to be at Real Madrid, and is committed to fighting for his place and succeeding at the club, and would reject any approach from a club like Inter.
“Luka will stay at Real Madrid,” he said. “I don’t think there is any chance that we can see him in a different shirt in the next few years. Would he say no to Inter to stay at Real? I think so. Even if Inter are a good side, Luka wants to stay at Real. Luka wants to only play for Real Madrid and there isn’t the slightest chance that he will leave.”
Inter are in need of a new midfield playmaker after selling Wesley Sneijder to Galatasaray in January. Manchester United could also do with reinforcements in that area, with the possibility of Paul Scholes retiring at the end of this season.
