Manchester City are determined to fight off competition from Real Madrid to sign Sevilla winger Jesus Navas, according to the Daily Mail.

The 27-year-old is high on the priorities of Manuel Pellegrini, who is widely expected to take over at City after leaving Malaga at the end of the season, but Real Madrid may look to hijack City’s bid.

The talented winger has been at Sevilla for his whole career due to a problem with homesickness, and may favour a stay in Spain over a move to England, though he is reportedly keen for a chance to work under Pellegrini.

Navas has also been watched targeted by Borussia Dortmund, and looks like finally fulfilling his potential at a bigger club after a distinguished career with his home town team.

Real Madrid are also fighting Manchester City for the signing of Isco, whom Pellegrini is desperate to take from Malaga to Manchester with him. The midfielder is one of the hottest talents in Spain at the moment, and Real are hoping they will be able to keep him in La Liga.

Both Navas and Isco would cost around £25million each, in what is likely to be a big summer of spending at the Etihad Stadium.
