Uruguayan striker refuses to be drawn on potential transfer.
Napoli striker Edinson Cavani refused to be drawn on speculation regarding his future at the club according to ESPN.
Cavani is currently one of the hottest properties in world football after a number of impressive displays in recent seasons for Napoli.
His goals during the current campaign fired the Italian giants into second place in Serie A meaning the club’s new boss Rafa Benitez can look forward to playing in the Champions League next season.
But that is likely to be without Cavani who is widely expected to leave after it was revealed the striker had a £50 million release fee clause in his contract.
That has sparked the attention of Europe’s top clubs, including Real Madrid, Manchester City and Chelsea, who are all thought to be preparing bids for the player.
Cavani’s father recently hinted that the player’s most likely destination would be Spain but the player himself refused to comment on the speculation.
Cavani insisted he remains focused on performing well for Napoli, for whom he scored 36 goals in all competitions last season.
Napoli have not lost hope of persuading Cavani to sign a new deal and will be encouraged by the noises emerging from the player.
