Real Madrid have told Tottenham they have until June 15 to accept their bid for Gareth Bale according to The Daily Star.

The Spanish giants are ready to test Tottenham’s resolve to keep Bale and tabled a bid of £60 million.

That is thought to match Tottenham’s valuation of Bale and would provide the additional incentive of allowing the club to sell Bale to a team outside the Premier League.

Real Madrid are confident of landing their man but Spurs are yet to get back to the La Liga side with a response.

It is thought that Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy remains hopeful of persuading Bale to remain at White Hart Lane for one more season.

The club are ready to offer Bale a new contract with wages thought to be in the region of £130,000 a week if he agrees to extend his time at the club.

Real Madrid are desperate to land a marquee signing this summer after seeing their bitter rivals Barcelona announce that Brazilian sensation Neymar will be arriving at the Nou Camp in the coming weeks.

Madrid are desperate to bring in Bale to placate their fans but will turn to Liverpool’s Luis Suarez should Tottenham turn down their advances for Bale.
