Parc des Princes side ready to tempt Old Trafford forward with massive salary.
PSG appear to be ready to start their formal push to sign Man United striker Wayne Rooney.
French source Le Parisien claim that the Parc des Princes side have already seen a €20m (£17.1m) bid for the 27 year old England man, unsurprising, turned down.
The big spending Ligue 1 champions are however willing to make the striker a mammoth offer in terms of his personal terms, perhaps believing that by doing so they can help persuade Rooney to force the issue by registering an official transfer request. Up to now the request to leave Man United, one the Old Trafford forward has denied, was said to only be a verbal one.
PSG have reportedly already offered Rooney £300k a week, an increase of £50k per week on his currrent Man United deal, which is already one of the highest salaries in European football.
A four year contract offer is on the table but a lot would of course depend on Man United, who are sure to demand at least double the woeful amount PSG are prepared to pay for the Premier League side’s fourth highest goal-scorer of all time.
PSG are apparently keen on issuing a statement of intent towards newly promoted Monaco who have already spent upwards of £120m to sign James Rodriguez, Joao Mourinho and Radamel Falcao.
