Arsene Wenger is reportedly open to offers from Bayern Munich for French centre-back Laurent Koscielny but only on the proviso that the Arsenal boss lands young Bayern Munich left-back David Alaba as part of the deal according to German source Tz.

Though Koscielny impressed a great deal in the latter stages of the last campaign he was initially forced out of the first team set-up by Wenger’s decision to pair Per Mertesacker with captain Thomas Vermaelen and with growing talk of a move to bring in Swansea City defender Ashley Williams perhaps the Gunners boss feels he can afford to use the 27 year old former Lorient man to land Alaba.

The Austrian international youngster has been hugely impressive over the course of the past three seasons since he broke into the Allianz Arena first team set-up.

Alaba made 35 starts in all competitions last term and would presumably be very happy to stay at the Bavarian club though perhaps incoming boss Pepe Guardiola may feel Koscielny is a player he is in more dire need of.

Koscielny joined Arsenal in an £8.4m deal back in July 2010 and has recently stated his desire to see the North London club show their ambition in the transfer window, demanding that Wenger brings in quality additions having seen big-name exits on a regular basis over the course of his three years at the Emirates Stadium.
