Chilean international edging toward Bernabeu move.
Spanish giants Real Madrid are reportedly leading the race to land Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal, according to talkSPORT.
Prospective future boss Carlo Ancelotti has reportedly earmarked the the 26-year-old as his primary target should he eventually complete his own move to the Spanish capital after asking to be released from his obligations at PSG.
Both Manchester clubs had been keeping tabs on Vidal, and his move to Madrid could be set to disappoint Arsenal too and Ancelotti would use Gonzalo Higuain as a makeweight in the deal.
Vidal has become one of the best box-to-box midfielders in the game and with three years left on his current deal the Italian champions are supposedly reluctant to sell, but reports suggest that they would be willing to listen to offers in the region of £30 million.
Higuain is thought to be highly sought after by the Serie A giants and reports emerging from Spanish newspaper El Confidencial suggest that a cash plus player deal would be of great interest to them.
The Argentinian hitman was supposedly high on Arsene Wenger’s wishlist but he now may be forced to look elsewhere if Ancelotti does decide to press ahead with his pursuit of Vidal.
