World Cup-winning centre-back Fabio Cannavaro has tipped Carlo Ancelotti for success at Real Madrid according to Goal.com.

The former Italy captain has expressed his belief that Ancelotti’s disciplinarian approach with suit Real Madrid should they Spanish side agree a deal to bring him to the club.

Ancelotti is reportedly keen to take over at Real Madrid following the departure of Jose Mourinho to Chelsea.

But his current employers, Qatari-backed side PSG, are keen to keep him at the club. Ancelotti still has a year remaining on his current deal and will not be available to move to the Spanish capital unless Madrid agree a deal with PSG.

But negotiations are expected to be concluded soon and it is being suggested that former Real Madrid legend Zinedine Zidane could join the management team alongside Ancelotti.

Cannavaro went on to state that he believes Iker Casillas’ experience with Jose Mourinho last season will make him stronger.

Mourinho was the first manager in over a decade to drop Casillas and the Spanish number one did not take the rejection well.

Spanish newspaper Marca reported in January that Casillas reportedly informed club officals he would be leaving during the summer if Mourinho remained in charge at the club.

But Cannavaro insisted that the experience will prolong Casillas’ career and will serve him well in the future.
