White Hart Lane star wants Bernabeu switch.
Tottenham’s prized asset Gareth Bale has reportedly demanded a move to Real Madrid according to NBC Sports.
The 24 year old has been continually linked with a move to the Spanish giants but the North London side have insisted that the Welsh winger is not for sale, however if quotes reported by this source are to be believed then the White Hart Lane side may struggle to retain the services of the former Southampton man this summer.
They quote the Marca who report that Bale has angrily confronted chairman Daniel Levy, stating;
You made me a promise. You promised me if we didn’t qualify for the Champions League and a good offer turned up you’d listen to it. Well that offer has arrived and I want to play for Real Madrid. So keep your word and negotiate. I’m not interested in Manchester United or any other club. I only want to play for Real Madrid.
One wonders how Marca managed to extract this information and it should be noted that the Spanish source is often cited as Real Madrid’s ‘Mouth Piece’ and this could just be a rather unsubtle attempt to unsettle Bale.
Bale scored 26 goals in all competitions last term but his efforts failed to help his side secure an all important top four finish and this could well lead to the Tottenham man’s potential exit sooner or later.
