Bernabeu boss wants Italian international.
Real Madrid are readying an advance for Juventus centre-back Giorgio Chiellini according to the Gazzetta dello Sport.
Carlo Ancelotti is keen to strengthen his defence and has set his sights on the experienced Italian international with Bernabeu president Florentino Perez set to offer up to €22m (£19m) for the 28 year old defender.
Chiellini has been key to Antonio Conte’s back to back Serie A title triumphs and is surely not a player the Turin side would consider selling.
The former Fiorentina man has been a virtual ever present since moving to Juventus in 2005 and has made 265 appearances for the Bianconeri.
Ancelotti would appear to have a fair few decent central defensive options in the squad he inherited from Jose Mourinho with youngster Raphael Varane forming a solid pairing with Sergio Ramos with Pepe providing very solid support for the Italian boss.
Real Madrid have invested heavily in their squad this summer, spending upwards of £60m to bring in the likes of Daniel Carvajal, Casemiro, Isco and Asier Illarramendi though have pretty much covered all that cost by selling Gonzalo Higuain, Raul Albiol, Jose Callejon and Pedro Leon.
