Arsenal have already had two bids rejected for the striker and are contemplating making a third offer.
Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers claims that Luis Suarez “totally understands” the clubs decision not to entertain any offers for him, the Daily Telegraph reports.
Arsenal have made Suarez their main transfer target for the rest of the summer and have already had two bids turned down by Liverpool.
The Gunners are reportedly contemplating whether or not to make a third bid, with Liverpool only likely to accept offers that are over £50 million.
The striker is desperate to leave Anfield in order to move to a club that is in the Champions League but Rodgers claims that the striker still understands Liverpool’s position.
“Luis is happy. He totally understands the club’s point of view,” Rodgers told the Liverpool Echo.
“He’s in a difficult position in terms of not being able to play because of his suspension – he will sit out the first six games and he will miss playing football”.
While Suarez wants to leave Liverpool for Arsenal, he hasn’t yet submitted a formal transfer request as he doesn’t want to ruin his relationship with the Reds supporters.
The Uruguayan’s preferred destination is thought to be Real Madrid but the Spanish giants are currently concentrating on a move for Gareth Bale, meaning Suarez is unlikely to move to the Santiago Bernabeu this summer.
