The experienced midfielder has been heavily linked with a move to Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea this summer.
Daniele De Rossi has suggested that he will stay with Roma this summer despite reported interest from Chelsea, Real Madrid and Paris St Germain, Goal.com reports.
The Italian has claimed that he is focused on helping Roma bounce back from a disappointing 2012/2013 campaign, in which De Rossi himself was side lined following a falling out with the clubs former manager.
Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is thought to be a huge admired of De Rossi and was looking to bring the Italian to Stamford Bridge to strengthen the Blues midfield.
However, De Rossi has said that he wants to help Roma improve on their sixth place finish in Serie A last season.
“The last few seasons have not gone well, that is clear,” De Rossi told reporters.
“What we need is to be reborn. And we start from here, in pre-season. This is the preparation for a revival ahead of an important year”.
“The club has always been a strong one, even in the years that things didn’t go so well”.
The midfielder is thought to be one of the best holding midfield players in the world and has spent his entire career at Roma, despite the interest from some of the biggest clubs in Europe.
It looks like he will snub that interest again, which will be a disappointment to Jose Mourinho in particular, who tried to sign him when he was manager of Inter Milan and then when he was in charge of Real Madrid.
