Want-away Liverpool striker has still not given up hope of securing a move to Spanish side Real Madrid according to The London Evening Standard.

The Uruguayan forward’s future has been the subject of intense speculation this summer after he publically declared his desire to leave the club.

Suarez made no secret of the fact that he would prefer to move to the Spanish capital, though that dream appeared to fade after Real failed to make an offer for his services.

Arsenal have since become favourites to land his signature but it appears that Suarez has not yet given up hope of securing his dream move.

Suarez could receive his wish should the Spanish club find their efforts to sign Tottenham’s Gareth Bale frustrated.

Spurs are currently holding out for in excess of £85 million plus a player, with the two sides currently locked in negotiations.

Should they fail to find a resolution, Madrid could well decide to turn their attentions elsewhere, which would make a move for Suarez seem increasingly likely.

It remains to be seen whether Real would agree with Liverpool’s interpretation of Suarez’s minimum fee release clause or whether, like Arsenal, they would argue that any bid over £40 million would be sufficient to secure a deal.
