Premier League giants Chelsea and Arsenal are both believed to be keeping close tabs on exciting young Santos forward Victor Andrade, according to reports in the Daily Express.

The highly rated Brazil Under-20 international, dubbed the ‘new Neymar’ back in his homeland due to his similarities to FC Barcelona’s new playmaker, has been earning rave reviews in Brazil after a string of eye-catching displays for Santos.

However, despite being aged just 17, Andrade has been featuring in the Sao Paulo giants’ first team for over a year now, having made his debut for Santos last June.

In the intervening period, the wonderkid has featured in 23 league contests for Santos, scoring three goals in the process for his team, leading to speculation that he could soon follow Neymar’s path to Europe.

And Andrade’s agents, NVA Entertainment Group, have now confirmed that a number of clubs on the Continent, and particularly in England, have shown an interest in the youngster, with a spokesman saying:  “We can confirm that there is interest in England in Victor, and not unsurprisingly from some of the bigger clubs.

“Victor is a wonderful talent, but we and his family are calm and we are confident his future will be resolved at the right time, in the right way.”

Andrade’s current contract with Santos only runs until June 30 2014, meaning that with the Brazilian currently unwilling to put pen to paper on the new deal that his employers have been offering him of late, the star man could be available for a cut-price fee.
