Manchester United are interested in signing Real Madrid full-back Fabio Coentrao, with Red Devils manager David Moyes preparing a late bid for the Portuguese left back, Marca reports.

Coentrao has made it clear to Real Madrid that he wants to leave as he is frustrated at the lack of first team football that he has been getting at the Santiago Bernabeu.

The Portuguese full back has failed to take part in any of Madrid’s league games so far this season and is in danger of missing out on a place in Portugal’s World Cup squad if he continues to miss out on first team football.

Manchester United appear ready to offer Coentrao a place in their first team and Moyes may now make an attempt at signing the defender as he has given up in his pursuit of Everton left back Leighton Baines.

Madrid are willing to sell Coentrao but only if they receive a bid of more than 20 million euros.

Monaco offered Madrid 20 million euros earlier in the transfer window but that bid was rejected because Los Blancos didn’t think it was sufficient enough.

Tottenham to are also interested in Coentrao and could rival Manchester United for the Portuguese international’s signature.
