Manchester United and Paris St Germain are set to make a deadline day move for Real Madrid’s unsettled play-maker Mesut Ozil, AS reports.

The German international has fallen down the pecking order at the Santiago Bernabeu and was left on the bench during the clubs 3-1 victory over Athletic Bilbao on Sunday.

Ozil could fall even further down the pecking order at Madrid now that Gareth Bale’s world record transfer has been completed, meaning the German is set for a season on the bench if he remains with the Spanish giants.

Despite this, Madrid are reluctant to sell Ozil, who has blossomed into one of the best play-makers in Europe during his time at the Santiago Bernabeu.

However, should Manchester United or PSG offer Madrid big money, something in the region of £40 million, then the Spanish club could be willing to let the player go as they know they need to re-coup some money following the arrival of Bale.

Arsenal are also thought to be interested in Ozil, meaning it could be a three fight for the German’s signature on the final day of the transfer window.
