Parc des Princes skipper makes it’s abundantly clear he wants his side to land Old Trafford star.
It’s fairly rare that a player would make a public plea for his club to make a move for an opposing player but that’s exactly what PSG skipper Thiago Silva has done according to the Daily Mirror.
The Brazilian international is clearly very keen for his Parc des Princes side to bring in Man United striker Wayne Rooney and has no qualms about making his feelings on the matter very clear indeed, which may well anger the Old Trafford club.
Silva stated ahead of his side’s key fixture with Monaco;
“I was hopeful we would sign Wayne Rooney this summer and I am hopeful that we still can.”
“It is clear his future at Manchester United is not certain.
“The player himself has made it clear that he would like a new challenge.
“If he still feels that way in January or even next summer then, once again I would urge him to come and join PSG. We are the most exciting project in European football and it is clear from the ambition of our owners that we are going to be successful.”
Silva is of course correct, Rooney’s situation at Old Trafford is far from certain though one would have to imagine that his position at Man United has improved given the recent run of first team action the 28 year old garnered.
Wayne Rooney was strongly linked with a move away from Man United throughout the summer but remains at the Premier League title holders and has scored four goals in his past three appearances.
Clearly however the prospect of a front three of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Edinson Cavani and Wayne Rooney is a mouthwatering one to say the least!
