La Liga side target Anfield attacker.
Liverpool look set to have to deal with the attentions of La Liga side Atletico Madrid as they look to lure Brazilian Philippe Coutinho to the Vicente Calderon according to the Sunday Mirror.
The in-form Spanish side, who have started the season with seven wins from seven games, will make an offer for the Anfield youngster in January if they have safely negotiated their way to the Champions League knock-out stages.
The 21 year old playmaker is recovering from a shoulder operation and may well be tempted by a move to resurgent Atletico but Liverpool are unlikely to consider offers for arguably their top creative talent.
Coutinho moved to Liverpool in January in an £8.5m switch from Serie A side Inter Milan and has become an instant fan favourite.
In a dozen Premier League fixtures last term the intelligent attacking midfielder netted three times and provided five assists and has impressed during the current campaign, perfectly linking midfield and attack, displaying the form that he hopes will earn him a place back in the Brazilian national team set-up.
Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone has forged his team into genuine La Liga title candidates and as such could perhaps be a side that would interest Coutinho, especially if his Liverpool side are not up among the top four when the transfer window re-opens.
