Spanish giants keen to offload French striker.
Real Madrid could be willing to offer Karim Benzema to Liverpool as part of a £20m bid to sign the Reds’ star striker Luis Suarez this January, according to the Daily Star.
The Spanish giants have long been linked with a big-money move for the talented Uruguayan forward, as they are keen to bring him to the Bernabeu as an upgrade on the under-performing Benzema.
This has seen the French striker linked with the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea in recent times, though it is now believed that Real will hope to tempt Liverpool to sell Suarez with the offer of the player moving in return.
There is no doubt that the potential sale of Suarez will leave Brendan Rodgers’ side with a gaping hole upfront, and the Anfield club have been linked with a whole host of forward players as possible replacements if their leading scorer from last season does decide to move on.
Benzema could be an ideal solution to this problem, though it is unclear if the player himself would be keen on joining a club not currently playing in the Champions League, which has also been cited as one of Suarez’s main reasons for wanting to leave Merseyside.
