There has been growing speculation that Carlo Ancelotti is ready to offload Spanish international Ramos after the pair fell out in recent weeks, with the issue coming to a head after criticism leveled at the defender by the Italian boss after his recent red card against Galatasray.

Since moving to Chelsea in January 2011 David Luiz has made a total of 120 appearances and has helped the club to Champions League and Europa League triumphs but could well be tempted by a fresh challenge.

The 26 year old has started just five Premier League fixtures this season with Jose Mourinho preferring to use John Terry and Gary Cahill as his first choice central defensive pairing.

Ramos’s ability to also play at right-back may well also appeal to Mourinho, who has opted to use Branislav Ivanovic primarily in that role this season.
