Mourinho is not happy with the goal-scoring return of his current trio of striking options with Fernando Torres, Samuel Eto’o and Demba Ba all struggling for form and any interest in Rooney may well lead many to believe that loaned out forward Romelu Lukaku is likely to secure a permanent exit from the West London club.
Rooney has been in fine form this season, scoring ten and providing ten assists in his 20 appearances in all competitions and if by next summer his Man United side have not even secured a top four finish then his future at the club would certainly be shaky to say the least.
