Man City are also known to be on the trail of the 21 year old Spanish international with Manuel Pellegrini keen to reunite with his former Malaga charge, but Tim Sherwood hopes he can lure the Bernabeu star to White Hart Lane initially on a season long loan spell.

Isco started the season brightly but has started just one La Liga fixture in 2014 and may well be considering his options and perhaps a temporary switch would make sense to both the player and Real Madrid.

Tottenham may look to foster their relationship with Real Madrid, having sold Gareth Bale to the Spanish giants for a world record fee last summer.

Isco could provide some much needed creativity to a midfield that certainly has more than it’s fair share of tough tacklers, with the likes of Etienne Capoue, Sandro and box to box performers Moussa Dembele and Paulinho, the Real Madrid man could offer a more direct link with the club’s attack and an extra goal threat.
