Arsenal have been given fresh hope in landing Colombian international winger Juan Cuadrado after learning of Fiorentina’s plan to buy the remainder of his rights from fellow Serie A side Udinese, according to the Metro.

Cuardrado has been a long time target for the Gunners, but is also being closely watched by Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich, but a sale has proved difficult as both Italian sides have part-owned the player.

However, reports in Italy have suggested that Fiorentina, for whom he currently plays, are set to purchase the remainder of his rights in order to sanction a summer move overseas.

The Gunners looked as though they were readying a big money move for the 25-year-old during the January transfer window, but opted against it with the view of making an improved bid again at the end of the season.

However, their inactivity could be punished as Bayern have now been placed as favourites to pip them to the post with their own £15m bit, which will be much easier to do once he is owned outright by the Tuscan club.
