The Spanish giants are keen to bring in a new young custodian and have narrowed down their targets to loaned out Chelsea man Thibaut Courtois and Man United’s David de Gea.

Though the Old Trafford keeper is apparently happy with life with the Premier League title holders he is said to have ambitions of returning to the Spanish capital, where he of course represented Atletico Madrid prior to his big money move to Man United.

23 year old de Gea endured a sticky opening spell at Man United but has gone on to become arguably one of the most reliable keepers in the Premier League.

Indeed even though Man United have struggled for form this season the Spaniard has managed to impress on a regular basis, the young custodian has kept four clean sheets in his past seven Premier League appearances.

However if Man United fail to secure a Champions League berth David de Gea may be tempted by a move back to his hometown, not least as such a move could aid his push for a first senior Spanish national team cap.
