Fernandinho – 7
Another fine display from the Brazilian, who was seemingly everywhere on the pitch, winning balls in the middle and then even clearing it off the line at one point.
James Milner – 6
As expected the England international worked tirelessly up and down the left flank, but snapped at the chances he did have and perhaps could have done more.
Samir Nasri – 6
Was always in and around the penalty area and managed to force Victor Valdes into a few saves.
Yaya Toure – 7
As the cliche goes physicality doesn’t go down well in the Champions League and although Toure was called up on it, this was a fine display from the Ivory Coast international against his former team.
David Silva – 6
Pretty quiet stuff from the Spaniard, who needed to perform better in this game really although did lay on a great chance for Nasri with a classy back-heel.
