Stamford Bridge side push on with efforts to land Allianz Arena forward.
Chelsea’s ongoing search for fresh striking options will see the Blues make a crucial move for Bayern Munich forward Mario Mandzukic according to Football Direct News.
The 27 year old may well seek to leave the Allianz Arena in the knowledge that Borussia Dortmund goal machine Robert Lewandowski is to join the Bavarian club in the summer which will invariably lead to the former Wolfsburg man being used in a more limited role.
Stamford Bridge boss Jose Mourinho certainly needs to sign a striker or two in the summer as his current crop, Fernando Torres, Samuel Eto’o and Demba Ba, have failed to make a consistent enough impact at the West London club this season.
Mandzukic may well jump at the chance of a move to Chelsea, especially in view of those who he’d be challenging for a starting spot.
The powerful Croatian international has been in a regular goal-scorer since moving to Bayern Munich back in June 2012, scoring 45 goals in 80 appearances.
