The striker met with City owner Sheik Mansour, amid interest from Los Blancos, who have coveted Aguero since his days with their city rivals Atletico Madrid.
Despite a series of niggling injuries, Aguero has bagged 26 goals in 28 appearances this season for City, with only his compatriot Lionel Messi boasting a better minute-per-goals ratio in Europe.
According to some reports, City are keen to sign PSG’s Edinson Cavani in the summer, which has thrown the future of Cavani into doubt.
But the Mail say City’s chief executive Ferran Soriano has already assured Aguero of just how highly-regarded he is at Eastlands, while Mansour wanted to confirm his admiration for the forward in person.
