Spaniards seek replacement for Coentrao.
La Liga giants Real Madrid have become the latest club to cast an eye over the availability of Southampton full-back Luke Shaw as they look to line up a replacement for Fabio Coentrao this summer, according to Marca.
The Spanish title chasers are set to let the Portuguese international make an exit from the club at the end of the season as he seeks more playing time elsewhere and they are said to have made Southampton starlet Luke Shaw and Grenada’s Guilherme Siqueira.
The Brazilian was due at the Bernabeu on transfer deadline day last summer, only for him to join Benfica on a short term loan deal instead. However, after a series of fine displays back in Spain this year Los Blancos are set to make another move for him again this time around.
Madrid are also keeping tabs on Shaw, though, as he is likely to make an exit from Southampton this summer with the likes of Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United all interested.
At just 18, he is believed to be valued in the region of £30m, and though they are looking to make some drastic changes to their playing staff at the end of the season, they are leaning more towards Siqueira, who at just £7m would be the much cheaper option.
