The Reds have already begun making initial moves for a series of potential new players ahead of the transfer window this summer as they look to strengthen their squad for next season’s Champions League.
Griezmann’s performances for Real Sociedad have made him hot property, with both Manchester United and Arsenal keeping close tabs on his situation, the latter even having a bid turned down in January.
However, reports in Spain are now suggesting that Liverpool are firmly in the race to land his signature after manager Brendan Rodgers sent his chief scout to watch the French international take part in Sociedad’s 1-1 draw with Granada on Sunday night.
Real Sociedad can finish no higher than fifth in La Liga this season, meaning the Basque outfit will not have Champions League football to offer Griezmann to convince him to snub a move elsewhere.
The 24-year-old has clocked up 16 goals for the club this term and has become one of the most sought after stars in Europe.
