The experienced France international’s current deal at the Emirates runs out at the end of June and despite the two parties having been locked together in face-to-face talks for well over a year now about extending Sagna’s stay at the club, there has still to be a resolution.

And that is because the full back is said to be demanding a new three-year deal worth a whopping £100,000 per week AND a signing-on fee as well, while the Gunners operate a strict club-wide policy of not offering long-term contacts to those players over the age of 3o.

And with Sagna now aged 31, Arsenal head coach Arsene Wenger has only be willing to hand Sagna a new two-year deal on wages of just £75,000 per week, meaning that the defender is now set to decide between joining either Manchester City or Arsenal’s arch-rivals Chelsea next season instead.
