The Bernabeu side are looking to sign Liverpool striker Luis Suarez and need to balance the books in order to fund a massive bid for the Uruguayan and this will lead to Benzema being made available for prospective suitors.
The 26 year old has had an excellent season scoring 24 goals in all competitions but Real Madrid president Florentino Perez wants to sign Suarez to replace the former Lyon man as the Spanish giants look to line-up a three pronged attack with Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo flanking the Anfield star.
Benzema has enjoyed a clean run in the Real Madrid first team set-up this term following Gonzalo Higuain’s move to Napoli and despite playing a key role in the club’s march to the Champions League final it appears he is a player on his way out.
Wenger would no doubt jump at the chance of welcoming in Benzema to help ease the north London club’s reliance on Olivier Giroud but he may be reticent about forking out such a large sum for the Real Madrid man.
