French striker weighs up options.
A source close to Queens Park Rangers striker Loic Remy has claimed that the player has already held talks with both Arsenal and Liverpool ahead of a big money move this summer, according to the Daily Mail.
The former Marseille star is contracted to the west London club until 2017, but spent the previous campaign on loan with Newcastle United, where he impressed despite the club’s mixed fortunes in the Premier League.
He managed to chalk himself up 14 goals in 24 starts for the St James’ Park outfit, and has now found himself as one of the hottest properties in the top flight as the transfer window approaches.
Arsenal have long been linked with Remy while Liverpool are seeking to bolster their squad ahead of a campaign in which they will face the added demands of Champions League football, having clinched second place in the Premier League during a season in which they had no European distractions.
Remy, who has been called up by France to travel to Brazil as part of their World Cup squad, watched the Gunners beat West Bromwich Albion from the stands of the Emirates Stadium on May 4th.
However Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger denied he or anyone from the club had asked him along to the game, saying at the time: “I hope he paid for his ticket! I did not invite him.”
