Newcastle United defender Paul Dummet has found himself at the centre of a Twitter storm this week following his challenge on Luis Suarez on the final day of the season, which has threatened to keep the Uruguayan out of next month’s World Cup.

He was a relative unknown in world football until this week, when he became public enemy number one in Uruguay following the news of Luis Suarez’s injury and subsequent operation to help him recover from a knee injury that could see him miss part, or all of the World Cup.
Thousands of Uruguayans took to the social media site to express their hatred towards the Magpies stopper – an incident that saw Suarez react and call for calm.
