The 27 year old missed most of 2013/14 with injury and could be set to leave the Bernabeu with boss Carlo Ancelotti being linked with a myriad of possible central midfield additions.
Khedira recovered from his lengthy spell on the sidelines just in time to force his way back into Joachim Low’s 2014 World Cup finals squad and the former Stuttgart man will not want to remain at Real Madrid only to warm the bench and could therefore be tempted by a move to north London.
Ancelotti is tracking Juventus youngster Paul Pogba, PSG midfielder Marco Verratti and Chelsea’s Ramires which would suggest that Khedira could be set to become surplus to requirements, not least as the likes of Xabi Alonso, Asier Illarramendi and Luka Modric are also fighting for spots in the Real Madrid starting eleven.
Arteta had an up and down campaign last term and the 32 year old has a year to run on his current contract with no new deal on the table for the former Everton man.
