White Hart Lane side pursue Bernabeu pair.
Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino is clearly keen to resolve his side’s left-back ‘problem area’ with Spanish source AS claiming that the White Hart Lane manager has targeted two Real Madrid wide-men.
Last season Andre Villas-Boas and Tim Sherwood used Danny Rose and Jan Vertonghen to fill the left-hand side defensive spot but neither impressed and this has led Pochettino to track Brazilian Marcelo but the north London side’s advances for the 26 year old failed which in turn has led to an interest in Portuguese international Fabio Coentrao.

By all accounts that move has also failed with Carlo Ancelotti looking to keep hold of both full-backs, opting against pursuing Sevilla youngster Alberto Moreno.
Pochettino will no doubt be looking to bring in a fair few new signings this summer though chairman Daniel Levy may be reticent about providing massive sums for the process having spent over £110m on players a year ago, therefore the Argentine boss may well look to trim his expansive squad in order to help boost his transfer fund pot.
