Brazil star sticks up for banned Suarez.Brazil striker Fred has told reporters in a press conference that he feels the lengthy ban imposed on Liverpool and Uruguay star Luis Suarez is unfair and too long.
The Premier League’s double Player of the Year for 2013/14 is set to miss four months of football after a bite on Italy defender Giorgio Chiellini earlier this week, and will play no further part in this summer’s World Cup as a result.
Fred feels it is a shame to see such a top player miss out on the biggest football tournament, and has called for people to be more understanding about incidents that can happen to players in the heat of the moment.
Although senior pundits and figures in the British press have largely been highly critical of Suarez, Fred has joined Argentina legend Diego Maradona and other high-profile South Americans in sticking up for the controversial Liverpool man.
