The Bernabeu side had factored in a possible move for 19 year old England winger Sterling next summer but will bring forward plans as concerns grow over the long term fitness of Portuguese international Cristiano Ronaldo.

Ronaldo’s knee injury will lead the 29 year old to undergo surgery that could leave him out of action for months and this has heightened their interest in Sterling, who has matured into one of the hottest prospects in European football and Real Madrid are ready to offer £25m for the exciting attacker.

Real Madrid are also still interested in £70m Anfield ace Suarez, despite his recent biting scandal that will rule him out of the opening months of the 2014/15 season.

Boss Carlo Ancelotty may well have designs of using Suarez as the central portion of a three pronged attack with Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale on the flanks, a mouthwatering prospect to say the least.

One imagines that if Real Madrid are once again set to spend big then a number of their expansive squad could be on their way out in order to help balance the books.
