Liverpool midfield duo Philippe Coutinho and Lucas Leiva played 33 and 27 Premier League games respectively last season, helping the Reds finish as runners up to Manchester City.

Coutinho, 22, scored five goals and provided seven assists, while Lucas, 27, made 88 tackles and completed 1,293 passes.

Despite their impressive domestic campaigns, both players were overlooked by Brazil manager Luiz Felipe Scolari when he named his squad for the 2014 FIFA World Cup.

The Anfield duo are coping with their disappointment together – as you can see in the below image, which was uploaded to Coutinho’s Instagram page.
