Spanish publication Hora25 deportes claim that Premier League giants Arsenal have submitted an official €30m offer to Real Madrid for German anchorman Sami Khedira.

However, the Gunners have been stunned by Khedira’s monstrous £153,000 per week wage demands, which would see him overtake Mesut Ozil as the club’s highest paid player.

The German scored his country’s fifth goal in the demolition of Brazil in the World Cup semi-final on Tuesday evening – and Arsenal fans would be delighted if they managed to secure his services.

With Alexis Sanchez already set to arrive, a midfield base of Khedira with the likes of Ozil, Ramsey and Sanchez ahed could make Arsenal the most dangerous side in the country.

Arsene Wenger has previously been criticised for his dealings in the transfer market – but this summer, it appears he’s prepared to pay big sums to bring readymade players to the Emirates.
