The 25 year old will represent the north London side’s first signing of the summer though this source also reports that Newcastle United right-back Mathieu Debuchy is set to move to the Emirates Stadium imminently.
Sanchez has agreed terms on a four year deal and will provide the Gunners with some much needed strength in the final third.
Last term Arsene Wenger overly relied upon French forward Olivier Giroud, which inevitably led to the former Montpellier man suffering something of a drop in form early in 2014.
This situation was further exacerbated by injuries suffered by both Lukas Podolski and Theo Walcott, who managed just 23 Premier League starts between them in 2013/14.
Sanchez has scored 47 goals and provided 27 assists in 140 appearances for the Catalan side since his move to Barcelona three years ago.
The former Udinese man is primarily used by Barcelona in a wide attacking role though is well used to be using in a central striking berth, the position he often fills at national team level.
